Chocolate Orange Energy Balls

Updated: Feb 1, 2023

These are so delicious, you'd never guess they were so good for you! Proof that it's always possible to eat flavoursome AND nutritious foods - you just need the right recipes :).

I've paired the natural sweetness from the dates with healthy protein and fats from the walnuts and almond butter to make sure this is a sweet treat that keeps your blood sugar, and energy levels, stable.

Make a big batch of these and store in the freezer for easy to grab snacks.

Makes 10-12 balls

Ingredients

12 dates

2 tbs cacao powder

Zest of 2 oranges or 2tsp orange extract

160g walnuts

40g smooth peanut or almond butter

Method for Chocolate Orange Energy Balls

Put all of the ingredients in a food processor and process until well combined, it should be very sticky.

Take 1 tbs of mixture and roll into a ball. Repeat until the mixture is used up.

Keep in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or freezer for up to 2 months.

I think they are best eaten straight from the freezer!
